I’ll be performing at Louder Than A Mom on February 19. As always, the performance will be uploaded to my YouTube channel as soon as soon as the footage is ready.
I recently had the pleasure of collaborating with author Amelia Cotter to transform her children’s book Breakfast with Bigfoot into an animated cartoon.

Romcom Table Read Update
Things are getting real. I have a script, pitch deck, and actors. Currently, I’m interviewing directors and searching for a venue. No word yet from the other grants. That said, base funding is secured. Getting those grants would just allow me to pay the actors more.
YouTube Monetization Update
Things are slowing down. Which is expected because I haven’t been promoting my channel. The more I think about my ideal channel, the more I feel like monetization won’t happen this year. Do y’all want my deeper thoughts on this or does this sound like I’m bullshitting/making excuses?
The table read is all consuming. Maybe I’ll revisit this goal in May when my scheduled is clear and I can post more like a YouTuber and less like a writer/comedian who doesn’t leave their home.
What advice do you have for me? I need a word, a kick in the butt, a reality check.
Repair Broken Things for Free at Chicago Tool Library (Rebellious Magazine)
It’s been a while since I wrote about ways to live rebelliously. This article should inspire you to stick to your no-buy and low-buy goals. The next repair fair is February 22, 2025.
Bump in the Road Podcast: Redefining Aging with Mariann Aalda
Mariann Aalda is an AARP Age Disrupter. I love her take on aging. One of my favorite nuggets from this conversation: It’s more useful to spend time being curious about the future vs. thinking on how you would rewrite the past.
A Minute on Racism: Dutch People
For Black History Month, I decided to repost this hot take on Dutch people.
Death by Sexy Underwear
The title says it all. Be safe out there, y’all. Whahahaha!
Update from Devin
Devin’s been accepted as a subject matter expert to the Writer MBA Conference run by Russell Nohelty and others. It will be held in New Orleans from March 19 to 22. If you’re in New Orleans and into this sort of stuff, stop by and say ‘hi.’
The print copies of Blackout #0 have arrived! Devin will be doing a signing at Our Mutual City Coffee Company on Saturday, February 22 at 11:30 am. The art preview looks so cool, I’m excited to own a SIGNED COPY!
