RIPDD Joins Creative Cypher’s XL Lab

I’m happy to announce that my Black rom-com Rest in Piss, Devin Damuels is now apart of Creative Cypher’s XL Lab. The reading will now be held at Black Ensemble Theatre. Because of limited space, the table reading is now for invited guests only.

Many thanks to Troy Pryor and everyone at Creative Cypher and Black Ensemble Theatre for believing in this project.

URGENT: White House Moves to Defund Public Media

Got this message on June 4 from Protect My Public Media. I already placed calls this morning. Will try again later today.

“It’s happening. The White House has officially asked Congress to claw back already approved public media funding. Unless we act immediately, entire communities could be cut off from essential public media services – or lose their stations altogether.

The House could vote on this destructive proposal within days. That’s why we’re urging you to call your Members of Congress and tell them to oppose this rescission package. With so little time to act, calls are the most effective way to make your voice heard.”

Devin Update:

The Prism anthology is in pre-launch! It will be going live next week, so make sure to follow along. It will feature comics, poetry, and my 500-word sci-fi prose piece, “One Thousand Years and Only Two Likes” with art by Wren Rios. I’ll have more to share once the campaign is in full swing, but I hope you support it if you read this newsletter. Thanks!

While I wait for updates on various projects, I wrote another comic for The Comic Jam in honor of Star Wars Day! I chose two rather obscure characters from a single episode of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated show. I’ve always found these two fascinating. I probably should have included an editor’s note or something to explain who they are or point readers toward said episode, but I hope this tells a complete story. Or at least hints at one. XD
