Since my last update, Okema (director) and I have gotten 3 more read requests from notable producers for the Rest in Piss, Devin Damuels script. Fingers crossed we secure a deal soon.
In March, after getting 5 read requests, we decided to delay the table reading. Now that April is almost over, we’re going ahead with our original strategy and planning an in-person table read for June 17, 2025. We’ve already sent out casting notices and everything.
Okema T. Moore’s “Laundry” among winners of this year’s American Black Film Festival (ABFF). Congrats to Okema and team for this win. Read more in Variety.
Devin Update
Devin recently traveled to New Orleans to attend the Writer MBA Conference. In the latest issue of Comics Book Club you can read about the conference, what they’re reading, about what they’ve read, shameless self-promotion, and Devin’s thoughts on book bans.
Nonprofitable Finale
In episode 5 of Nonprofitable animated web series, Tapala finally quit People’s Hearts and David stood up for her but couldn’t bring himself to leave with her. It looks like they’re still friends as we catch up with them in our final installment, Episode Five: “The Dam Bursts”! Please like and leave a comment if you watch on YouTube.
