Have y’all seen Apple Cider Vinegar on Netflix? Listen, I have some choice words for Belle Gibson and many of the females involved in wellness grifts. But now is not the time to get into all of that.
The series reminded me of the years I spent researching a fake doctor who worked his way through my church’s network scamming people. My Editor, Darlene, and I wrote a 5-part series only for Legal to kill the story. Many people don’t realize the high standards true journalists are held to. We do research. We need credible sources. We put in so much effort for weeks, months, and sometimes years only for Legal keep stories from running. Wimps!
Anyway, watch Apple Cider Vinegar on Netflix and research every wellness, fitness, and alternative medicine practitioner in your life. Heck, research your doctors because there are some bad apples in the traditional medical system as well.
Infinite Earth Body Podcast
And on that note, with fingers crossed, I share my Maya’s wellness podcast Infinite Earth Body. Please don’t be a fraud. PLEASE DON’T BE A FRAUD!!
Y’all I’m being silly. I know Maya IRL, I’m not as crunchy a hippie as she is but she’s been a great friend.
I used her fertility and contraception consultation services to learn more about my body when I was thinking about becoming pregnant. I believe the sessions gave me the confidence to attempt a home birth. Although laboring at home without any tech was too scary for me, learning to listen to my body helped me be a better communicator and advocate. These skills were especially helpful while birthing in the hospital.
Maya is hosting a 30-day Grounding Circle starting March 20. Find all the details in her recent Infinite Earth Body newsletter.
Romcom Table Read Update
I’m considering changing the reading date from April 10 to sometime before June 15 to better match the schedule of some interested talents. This is exciting news and waiting is a bit nerve-racking. My natural instinct is to speed through a project before fear catches up with me. I learning to give my projects a shot. I must put the same care into production and promotion as I do into writing.
So, where are we exactly? We’ve cast all the roles except the two leads. Unfortunately for those waiting actors, I can’t send out notifications until we know who all gonna be there.
Crafting Jokes w/ Kenzie Rowland — Lucille Ball + Kellye Howard
The lovely Kenzie Rowland joined me for some YouTube shenanigans where we expressed our love for our favorite female comedians. In the first episode of something I’m tentatively calling Crafting Jokes, we celebrate Lucille Ball and Kellye Howard.
